Can anyone recommend day/half-day trips from Limassol? We%26#39;d love to go to places with nice scenery, especially by the coast, and perhaps some historical places too. We%26#39;re thinking of the Ayia Napa/Protaros area and the Troodos mountains (not the Paphos area as we%26#39;re staying there towards the end of the holiday).
We%26#39;ll have a car but I%26#39;ll be 6 months pregnant so it will need to be somewhere that%26#39;s easily accessible and where I don%26#39;t have to walk too far.
Thanks in advance.

Visit the village of Omodhos with the monastery of the HolyCross and the lovely square and cobblestones and see the old wine press. You may tour one of the wineries of the village. Good food to be had at the restaurants of the village. I like Katoi. Interesting souvenirs like blown glass.
Curium amphitheare is very interesting (roman ruins and mosaics too) and also can hit the beach there. Cobblestones but very clean and not so busy. The restaurant closest to the end of the beach has usually good fish.
Up at Troodos, you could visit one of the UNESCO churches in the villages of Pedoulas / Moutoulas %26amp; Kalopanayiotis but that may be too long of a drive, however very very interesting. A stop at the Troodos station is always cool and refreshing, if you are upto it start one of the trails just to see the area or stop at the Psilodentro Restaurant at Platres for a lunch of very fresh trout.
Enjoy was stay

Try Lania up the Troodos rd from Limassol, also a great place for honey balls (food) is Trimiklini,no tourists there are only Cypriot families.Lania taverna in Lania is great for a meze,or a very Cypriot meze very cheap is at the the Kouris Dam,again seems to be very popular with Cypriot families especially in the holidays or name days...All of these places seem to be off the tourist trail or just passed by,great places to relax.

Hi,
Pissouri makes a good day out, there is a nice beach there and a few tavernas on the seafront, more up in the town. You could go to Kolossi castle on the way or the way back, to round off the day.

By the sea:Ladies mile-very soft sand very shallow clean water, can get a little hot, best in the morning before the wind picks up.
Governers beach, small but very quiet, sunbeds on the lawns by the taverna-good food and not overpriced.
Another beach in between Limassol (four seasons) and Governors beach (sorry cannot remember the name) stone beach but alot of tiny little coves.1 taverna the best sea food and freshest in Cyprus,on a Sunday there are hundreds of locals there all eating fish-very,very cheap.Nobody swims they just eat.All of our Cypriot friends have been there-so it must be good...Go before 1pm as the road is blocked due to the number of cars-no tourists there.

1 more place away from the sea is Pentakamo, not far from the four seasons.Fantastic taverna at the top of the village. The food is excellent...music in the evenings (greek) The meze is first class,a little more expensive but the surroundings are lovely...
