cypruspiper - advice please

Hi Kev

We will be going to ledra beach on 15th sept and will be getting to the hotel around 10pm. Could you recommend a place to eat close by and also recommend a few local restaurants within 10 min walk?

|||

Hi,

Turn left out of the hotel %26amp; within about 10mins you%26#39;ll find a stretch of restaurants %26amp; bars. Hubby %26amp; I favoured Cavallini%26#39;s, the Italian; food was well presented %26amp; service great. None of them mind if you just have starters %26amp; desserts either (some times it was just too humid for me to feel very hungry!)

The menus are all outside, so you can have a good look before you decide.

The Chinese next door (upstairs) is also nice. There are places to suit all tastes, incl pub style places with fish %26amp; chip, burger type menus (not our taste, so we avoided them).

Someone we spoke to recommended the Rib Shack (2mins past Cavallinis) but we never got round to trying it.

Da Vincis, a bit further past Cavallinis %26amp; on the right is also nice, but Cavallinis had the edge for us.

Regards

Are these within easy walking distance of the ledra? Its our first night and i know we will be hungry when we get there but i%26#39;m concerned not that many places will still serve food at 10 - 11pm. Just want somewhere relatively cheap and close by.

Will definitely try ficardos and 7 st Georges, heard good things about both of them

|||

pablo.e,

Well at that time not too sure if they will still serve, you will probably need to forget Atlantida at that time %26amp; concentrate turning left out of the Ledra %26amp; head up by Ficardos %26amp; upto bar st there are some restaurants that will serve after that time, try Phivos just after the Alexander the Great on the right hand side, nice food %26amp; am sure it would be still serving

Hi tankard

Doria Rest is primarily a fish taverna on the road to Coral bay, lovely setting for that sunset, nice breeze coming through from the sea. Specialises in fish or Meat meze%26#39;s

Artio%26#39;s is just off the main strip on tomb of the kings road, they have been doing alot of weddings there so not too sure if like Zaffron they have stopped using it as a rest %26amp; just concentrating as a wedding venue

Vardos is just before you get to Doria, they are mainly a wedding venue %26amp; open during the day for sunseekers ( probably get shot down for that) it is by the sea %26amp; out on a limb

Fikardos Theodoros was not the one I mentioned, I mentioned Ficardos check his website www.ficardosrestaurant.com

I%26#39;m a bit confused here Kev, the website address for Ficardos looks nothing like the Ficardos on %26#39;The Triangle%26#39; opposite the piano bar and yet the menus look very similar. Are there two Ficardos?

Pablo, I think at the time you%26#39;ll be wanting to eat most of the restaurants in the vicinity will be shutting up, but The Hot Cup cafe (also on the Triangle) will still be serving.

Hi saintscully

Not that I am aware just checked the website again %26amp; tele No all checks out

it is on the same side as you go past the Amathus by the triangle O%26#39;Solomans Irish Pub is next to it

here is the website addy again

Thanks Kev, we prefer the smaller quieter family tavern/restuarant, not these big places that cater for coach loads of wedding guests :O)

if youd like a recent photo of a sunset at the doria restaurant message me on here leaving your e mail address and i%26#39;ll send it. the food there is very nice and the setting is wonderful. its next to the cynthiana beach hotel.
