Dont bother with the water park in Protaras, go to the one in Ayia Napa called water world they have a website, it is in my opinion the best day out. There are boat trips from the beach, usual thing up towards famagusta and swim stops etc, it passes a few hours.

Hi Chez... the Papantonia is in a great location, in my opinion. Its near to the Marluta Beach where me and my family stayed a few years back.... it has its own small beach and watersports are also available. You are within minutes of Bars, Restaurants, supermarkets etc.... make sure you got to the Spectrum Bar... its alovely bar, and Angelo who runs it is lovely... he also has a very cute Bulldog called Piggy... we are off back to protaras next year, and this is going to be my kids highlight... seeing Piggy! hhehe. Im sure you will enjoy your holiday... enjoy!

Hi. We have just returned after 2 weeks staying on the East coast of Cyprus. We went to the waterpark at Agia Napa and this was rated our best day out by my 10 year old son. I thought it wasn%26#39;t half bad either. Lots of slides/rides to do and a wave pool, plus plenty of safe shallow pools, and my wife%26#39;s favourite, a lazy river. You can%26#39;t take food or drink in with you but must buy it there, however, you can take water, which I recommend you do, and plenty of it.

Going on previous advice we went on a Sunday as this is changeover day for a large number of the holiday makers in the region, so the water park is much quiter. The park opens at 10 and we arrived about 11.30 and there were still loads of decent placed sunbeds to claim. The pools weren%26#39;t particularly busy and there were no real queues for the slides, so I reckon the Sunday advice works. The park closes at 6 and they do tend to hurry you out if you are still there at that time.

For a boat ride, we went on the Yellow Boat from the Golden Coast Bay. I drove down there in the morning and booked in person, though you can probably also book through your hotel. There is a car park at the harbour if you are driving. The trip is excellent and went up the coast to Famagusta and then back down agaon to Konnos Bay for a swim. They supply lunch (sandwich) and drinks during the trip. For the swimming, they provide snorkal and mask, kayaks, and best of all, sea scooters. Very friendly people and highly recommended. Leaves at 10.30 each morning and returns at 2. They also do a BBQ trip in the evening about 3 days a week.

If you need a late lunch or very early teatime meal after the boat trip, just as you drive out of the harbour and opposite the Golden Coast hotel you will the Mikrolimano Restaurant. It was a little quiet on the evening we visited but the food was excellent and we would go again.

Hope you enjoy the trip.
