Hi,

My wife and I are thinking of going to Limassol. What are the beaches and nitelife like?

Are the beaches packed.......are they all topless beaches.

Is it a wild nitelife?

Any information appreciated.

Yes the beaches are packed. The beaches are somewhat sparce with only small sandy patches. All beaches are topless, but be warned the Cypriots do like to just stand and stare.

The nightlife can be lively, the US marines like to park offshore in August and come ashore in their hundreds,(last fling before Iraq)

Enjoy....

stayed at atlantica last year with wife and son and there are no beaches, its all rocks,if its a beach holiday u want the atlantica is not for u. the hotel itself is great, couldnt fault it.

If you head on to the main road, opposite Mcdonalds there is a nice sandy beach with umbrella,s and sunbeds to hire. It is down a path next to a cafe bar. We used to go there when we stayed at the atlantica.

Also try a little further down oppostite the Marathon Hotel (now closed) a long stretch clean with a few showers.Never busy..or near the Famagusta yacht club.

Do you have transport?

Curium beach is great which also has three eating areas on the beach.Does not get crowded and has the dark sand. Not as messy as the golden.

Curium beach is just outside Limassol (4-5 miles) on the way to Paphos.

Ladys mile is another but very open and exposed from the wind and Sun!! This is by the new Port.

If you are staying in the old town,go down to the Zoo,oposite is the sea front.Again very nice beach ,quite and sandy.

The sea with all the above is great and clean.

Another option is to pay a small dsaily fee and use onbe of the hotel fronts.
