Car Hire

Hi,

Does anyone know if a credit card is required to hire a car in Cyprus. I don%26#39;t have a one and I am looking too book in Advance

No you dont need a credit card - you can pay cash. However, if you want to book in advance you will need to pay a deposit and for that you will need a credit card. If you are not going high season you could wait til you get there- plenty of choice. Only other suggestion is to ask if they will accept a deposit sent by cheque. Good luck.

You don%26#39;t need to pay by credit card but I have been asked previously to leave details of a credit card as a form of security. This was with one of the %26#39;big boy%26#39; hire companies. I think the smaller Cypriot hire firms will be more than happy to accept your cash. Depends on the time of year you are travelling as to whether to book in advance. Generally it is easy to pick up a hire car anywhere and you can negotiate good deals if out of season.
