nissiana

I am planning to come to ayia napa in late september, but want to stay on nissi beach in the nissiana. Is this hotel ok?

Apart from the beach, is there anything at Nissi Beach, ie. restaurants and bars etc.? I like to walk into town but don%26#39;t want to have to walk for miles every time I want to have a drink or a bite to eat in the evening. How far will I have to walk? And how nice is Nissi beach? Some have told me its a dump, whereas it looks lovely on photograhs.

Let me know!!

Hi Suz

You%26#39;re in a good spot.Don%26#39;t worry. Beach just across road...Ok, the centre is 30 minswalk away but you have some nice restaurants and bars along the way...trust me...some nights you may not reach the centre...Enjoy!

thanks, thats really helpful of you.

suz

there are plenty of restaurants etc.along Nissi Ave. Just got back from there

Nissi beach is nice but gets crowded and to be honest I saw some litter on the beach and in the sea - some people are piggish and leave their litter behind to spoil it for everyone else.

Saying that we still had a fab time as I%26#39;m sure will you

we%26#39;re thinking of goin the first week in october, do you think it will still be crowded then? Are there any good bars/restaurants locally... what do you recommend?! Also, are there many taxis... how easy is it to jump in a cab just outside the hotel or do you have to order them?

Have you stayed in the nissiana? It looks ok, but don%26#39;t know whether to push the boat out and book the adams beach hotel. Looks nice but don%26#39;t know if its worth the extra cash. The olympic lagoon resort looks nice but a bit out of the way. Don%26#39;t fancy bein stuck in the middle of nowhere

Hi how are you! Just back from there again! (Have been to Napa about 6 times now and going back again the last week in September). Last time we stayed in the Nissi Beach Hotel (Beside the Nissiana) and found some really lovely restaurants in the area. There is a place called Erics, food to die for and not expensive. Works out about £20 cypriot for a really big dinner (believe me!). Literally beside Erics, there is a place called Atlas (Italian) also beautiful. Pizza and Pasta was just fab there. I had been told about Applebells which is beside the above two but was very disappointed with it. DONT ORDER STEAK over there! Its from New Zealand and really tough! You%26#39;ll be chewing it all night. Taxi%26#39;s are everywhere, no need to book. Also if you are walking and you discover people beeping at you, its taxi drivers looking to bring you home. If you want to go the other end of Ayia Napa (the party end) a taxi will be £4cyp. Basically to any part of Ayia Napa that will be the cost of taxi. Nissi Beach itself is stunning but a couple of times (especially in the evening) i saw plastic bags floating in the sea. If you would like to travel to the beach down at the harbour (still in Napa) its much nicer there and really clean and surrounded by shops where you can get nice cold drinks etc. If you need to know anything else feel free to ask. I%26#39;ve stayed in both parts of Ayia Napa (the town has two areas, the quieter and the party!) so I can point you in the right direction. Letty xx

Thanks, Letty!

I%26#39;ve looked at the Nissi Beach hotel, and been advised to get a sea view room as they%26#39;re well worth it! The pool doesn%26#39;t look that great though, did you find it ok?

Do you think its better to stay more centrally? I%26#39;ve found a really good deal with the Napa Plaza but feel myself strangely drawn to Nissi Beach end!!

Thanks for all your advice, much appreciated x

Hiya! I stayed in the Beach Bungalows so cant really comment on the sea view rooms. I can confirm though that the are up nice and high and you will most definitely have a sea view (over the beautiful gardens)! The only thing I would say is if you are booking a sea view room ask for one thats not located over the restaurant/bar. The music can be quite loud in the evenings and if youre wrecked you definitely wouldnt be able to sleep! The same for the morning! The sea view rooms are located over the ambrosia and also the bacchus bar and breakfast starts at 7am!! There is plenty of sea view rooms that are not located over these though so ask for one of these instead. If you ask for a sea view room in the direction of the Beach Bungalows you%26#39;ll be fine! No I think youre right about Nissi Beach. Believe me it would be hard to find anywhere more breathtaking and the staff are just brilliant. The pool is quite decieving! Its actually a lovely pool, quite big and doesnt get too packed as most people walk the extra 20 steps to the beach!! Plus the water isnt freezing cold, its just right. Also there is a snack bar beside it (snack bar is an understatement!) They do everything there from drinks, sandwiches or a proper feed! We went there one evening before we went out for a few drinks and I just wanted a toasted ham and cheese sandwich. Well if you saw what came out on the plate!! Tripple decker toasted sandwiches, chips and salad! I was absolutely stuffed!! Honestly though you will not have a nicer hotel anywhere. The gardens are beautiful, the beach at the hotel is fab and the staff will not be able to do more for you. You have absolutely made the right choice. If you need anything else just ask!
