Travel Insurance and Day Trips to Egypt

Maybe a silly question with an obvious answer but I want to check...

Do I need European or Worldwide Travel Insurance Cover if we are going to do the day flight to Egypt?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks :o)

Hi NYCfanNI

Egypt isn%26#39;t in Europe so strictly speaking you%26#39;ll need a day%26#39;s worldwide cover. HOWEVER, the free European travel insurance I get through my bank includes North African countries which have coasts on the Mediterranean, so Egypt IS included!

To be on the safe side, double check with the company you%26#39;re planning to get insurance with.

If you are booking through a tour operator it would be worth checking if insurance is included in the trip. We did the trip last year, with Airtours and Sea Island , I would have thought the rep would have told us if we needed extra insurance, they don%26#39;t usually miss the chance to make a few extra quid!

Thanks for the replies. I need to take out an annual family policy so not tour operator policy.

I will call a few and ask. Strange as like you say not like tours to try and make more £ of you!

Thanks :o)

Insurance is normally covered by tour op if its an escorted tour.

The majority of European insurances will cover Egypt, infact I cannot think of any that don%26#39;t.
