Pioneer Beach Hotel Paphos

My husband and I have booked to go to the Pioneer Beach Hotel in July 2008.

I have recently read a couple of reviews which states that the air conditioning in the rooms was not adequate enough for the temperatures experienced at night.

Please can anybody tell me if this is the case?

Good choice, stayed in this hotel in July and October last year, its a fabulous peaceful hotel. Did not have any problems in July with the air con but was a little noisey has they are in any hotel but no major problem, obviously in October, it was cooler and was not has essential, but still required.

Will be there again in two weeks, can%26#39;t come quick enough.

Hi,

We stayed at the Pioneer Beach from 16th - 20th June this year and although we enjoyed our stay we had big problems with the air con that ruined our holiday. When we first arrived the room felt quite warm so we turned the air con up to maximum, after half an hour the room was still really warm and on feeling the air coming out of the vent we soon realised it was just circulating the warm air around the room. The 1st night was SO HOT, I hardly slept. Next day was the same and other people were saying their room was hot too, one couple asked to be given a fan or be moved to another hotel!. Next night we slept with our patio door open all night which was noisy but much cooler. We asked at reception who confirmed the air con was not working properly but hopefully would be fixed soon. We heard workmen banging on the roof and the air con seemed to work for a while but by 2am the third night we were sitting on our balconies, the air con had stopped working again and we were really hot. By the 4th night, (incidentally our last night) the air con was working really well. Our room was really COLD and we had a good night sleep. We found it really difficult to get ready in the evenings to go out as we were so warm. I think when the air con is working how it should be it is really very good, although a little noisy. I am not sure if this is a common occurance at this hotel or maybe we were just unlucky. I am just about to post a review with photos. The hotel is lovely, with lovely staff etc hope you have a lovely time.

Thanks NATTYNOONOO for your reply.

I Will keep looking at the latest reviews to see if anybody else mentions problems with the air con.
