Jeep Safari

Could anyone suggest best place to book jeep safari?

Going to protaras next week is there a baker/supermarket near the Vangelis apartments?

Any of the tour shops in Protaras/Pernera feature the jeep safaris - really well worth doing. It is a very long day and at some times slightly uncomfortable on the bottom. Generally pick up from hotels/apartments 7.30 a.m and return 4.30ish. Landrovers carry up to 10 people. The front two rows of seats are fine but in the back of the landrover you sit on hard benches. If you are the first pick up you are OK, you can get the front seats near the driver. Take plenty of water with you because at this time of the year it gets very hot and there are only small windows in the back of the truck. You may also call at a waterfall where you can cool off so take swimmers and towel. If you call at a monastery - I think its the Kykkos, your shoulders and legs must be covered to be able to go in (unless they have relaxed the rules - shorts and strappy tops were a no no when we went 2 years ago) but there was a lady outside hiring out trousers and shirts at 1CYP) Ladies can put a sarong over their shoulders. Going off road you will see specactular views of The Troodos and call at little villages where you can buy souveniers - lace, glassware %26amp; jewellery although it is more expensive than in the resort. Hopefully you will go to the top of Mount Olympus where you have good views over both the north and south of the island - a mini meze lunch with wine is usually included which is lovely. Views of orange and lemon groves and banana plantations and the smell of The Troodos is divine. Hopefully you will get a great crowd with you and have a fantastic day. You will however sleep like a log when you get back to your hotel!

Plenty of supermarkets/bakers in the area.

Hi, you will be right next to a good tour office. Kariatis Travel %26amp; Tours %26amp; if you walk either way along the strip you will come to Tisvi Travel. They are much the same and prices should be the same however compare and see if you can get yourself a discount...no harm in trying!. They each use different safari companies so check where they visit, also the newer Landrovers have A/C but many drivers are not allowed to use it till July! It%26#39;s really hot here at the mo, I wouldn%26#39;t fancy being in the back of a Landrover for the day in this heat without A/C!!!!! The Troodos is nice however, I would recommend the Famagusta %26amp; Kerinya trip as the North is beautifiul. There is a new trip this year Kerinya by night, which if you have the time is well worth it (I%26#39;ve only done it privately, but it is a fantastic place to sit and have a meal in the evening) Have a great time.
