please can you allso tell me if they do an upgrade and how much i am olny on b%26amp;b

Congrats on your 50th Billy.

We stayed at the Aloe about 8 or 9 years ago and loved it.

It is close enough to the centre (Bar Street) to enjoy what lively Paphos has to offer but far enough away to avoid the noise, although I don%26#39;t know how much noise there will be in November.

If you turn left out of the Aloe there are plenty of bars and restaurants down the road to keep you fed and watered for a fortnight. If you turn right you will walk towards the harbour and Bar Street. Again, there are loads of bars and restaurants but they tend to be busier and noisier in high season.

As for the hotel itself, we really enjoyed it. The rooms and the communal areas were clean and well maintained and the pools were lovely. We had our toddler with us at the time and found that there weren%26#39;t many other children there. The clientele tended to be more middle aged people like yourself and they all made a fuss of our little one (probably enjoying the peace but missing their grandchildren back home).

I get the impression that Paphos is a 12 months a year resort. There is such a large ex-pat community out there and it is an ideal winter sun holiday destination that the facilities stay open more or less year round. I guess the attractions such as the Aquapark will close down for the winter but restaurants and bars will be open all the time.

please can you tell me if they do an upgrade i have booked b%26amp;b and thinking of upgradeing to HB anyone now how much it is to upgrade i stayed in the golden archs last year and it cost me 4 pound a day to upgrade

we go to this hotel on24 june will find out info for you

|||

Just an opinion but with so many super restaurants so near to the hotel serving top quality grub, I think it would be a shame to up-grade to HB. As a rule hotel food tastes similar all over the world. Please don%26#39;t miss out on the fabulous Cypriot along with many other foods served locally.

I%26#39;m with you on this one RhinoLeeds - Paphos has an abundance of restaurants and I can say in all honesty that I have had very few poor meals of all the years we have been going there.

I have never counted but would guess that you could reach at least 50 restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the Aloe - maybe more.

If cost is a factor there are restaurants offering two and three course dinners for a set price.

If you are hiring a car then I would suggest travelling out of Paphos itself into the outlying, less touristy areas. You can get home cooked, traditional Cypriot food for a fraction of the prices in town. If we are out and about in the car we will often just stop off at what are little more than %26quot;shacks%26quot; at the roadside with a couple of tables and chairs outside. We have had some of the best food ever at these little cafes and paid buttons for it.

My friend and I have just returned from the Aloe. We did flexi board which meant we could have HB 7 nights out of our 14. We picked which nights we wanted to eat in by looking at the board with the weeks list on. Anyone staying there on B%26amp;B could have their evening meal for CYP10. They have about 3 carverys which we found very good. There are several places around that do set menu meals for CYP8.95. I would wait until you get there to decide whether to upgrade or not. We thought the Hotel was very good. Lovely pool area, all very clean. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.Although we are older than you we got about quite a bit and swam several times a day. Our room over looked the pool area so we did not have the road noise. Some people said it was nice having sea view but the noise of the traffic kept them awake.

hi billy my daughter and her friends are at the hotel now enjoying the heatwave 46 -50c they say the hotel is nice especially the pool area. The breakfast is ok but they have eaten out most nights as the evening meals aren%26#39;t that good so they would recommend that you dont go hb as there are lots of lovely restaurants to eat out.
