Hi,
We are travelling out on 22nd july and I was wondering if it will be better to change my money up in the UK or bring sterling with me ?
I have just checked the rate on the net and I can get .83 cyp to the pound if I change it here.
Does any local expert in Ayia Napa know what sort of rate we will get locally and what charges we will pay to change it up ?
Thanks in advance
Hope x

I always take sterling and change it in Napa, a few weeks ago we were getting 0.85 in the shops

take about £CY200 to keep you going and search for the best rate over there, 2 weeks ago we were getting 0.85 in ayia napa and 0.86 in protaros, no commission. enjoy yourself

And then again, if you use one of the debit or credit cards that doesn%26#39;t charge for using their cards abroad, Nationwide for example, then you can use cashpoint machines and pay for goods %26amp; services with your card and the bank converts this to sterling for your account at the commercial bank rate rather than the tourist rate, so currently one pound will get 86 to 88 cents.
Still worth taking some currency with you so you have it when you arrive. Travelex, I believe, are offering the best rate if you order online and collect it at the airport before you fly.
