How does the Four Seasons compare with the Pathos Amathus Beach hotel? We%26#39;ve already booked to stay at the Four Seasons, but we%26#39;d like to stay somewhere different for a few days at the end of our holiday. Any comments, or other hotel suggestions, would be greatly appreciated...

They are equally nice hotels and both in good locations. If you have a good offer for the Amathus go ahead. If you hadn%26#39;t already booked the 4 Seasons, I would have suggested you try booking the Amathus in both Paphos %26amp; Limassol. Maybe they would give u a better offer.
By the way, it%26#39;s Paphos (or Pafos) not Pathos. Pathos means passion in greek.

Thanks Sweetie!

Yes, the two hotels you mention are about the same. If you want to stay somewhere different, I would suggest another town, as in Paphos or Ayia Napa. That%26#39;d be more worth the change...

Thanks mlazarou - at the moment we%26#39;ve booked 6 nights at the Four Seasons in Limassol and 3 nights at the Amathus Beach in Pafos. Do you have any recommendations of really nice hotels - preferably 5* - hotels in the Ayia Napa area? I couldn%26#39;t find any when I was doing my research.

The one I know for sure to be of top quality is Gracian Bay on Konnos bay, just outside Protaras. The one hotel which I think is 5 star in Ayia Napa and I know of, is Olympic Lagoon. Across from Nissi Beach Hotel (which , if memory serves me right, is a 4 star)

That%26#39;d be GrEcian Bay not GrAcian, pardon the typos

Enjoy the Four Seasons, just returned from a week ling break. Be warned the place isn%26#39;t cheap expect to pay around £30 GBP per person (without wine) at the restaurants and buffet. The cheapest way to eat is off the Al a Carte menu in the main restaurant. Cant comment on the Anatheus Beach but it didn%26#39;t seem to be a vibrant as the FS and there were a few large wedding receptions that seemed to be using the hotel facitilites.

Thanks again mlazarou. That hotel has got quite mixed reviews so I think we%26#39;ll stay with what we%26#39;ve booked and drive out to Ayia Napa / Protaras for the day instead. It%26#39;s a shame that the %26quot;true 5* hotels%26quot; aren%26#39;t located on the eastern site of the island where all the gorgeous beaches are!
Matt - thanks for the tip about the restaurants being expensive. Did you go to the Chinese restaurant - if so, is it as good as everyone says?! Also, did you eat outside the hotel? If so, any recommendations?

Re: Four seasons, nice hotel but not a true 5* apart from some of the prices. Can be busy with weddings and at times some very odd looking Russians, there is also a varied selection of ladies of the night.
I cannot recommend a good 5* in Cyprus-tried them all but tend to dissapoint. The Chinese is good, but you are in Cyprus, try a meze in a taverna.there are plenty around but a safe bet is the old market (indoor or outdoor).
Another hotel is the Curium palace in Limassol, only a 4*but small and very quiet. Not used by holiday companies but by business people. The suites are the nicest rooms, lovely pool, very clean. If you want luxury in Cyprus try renovated village houses with pools, simply stunning, designer furniture, finest marble bathrooms, plus a cook if you require one - but expensive £600 per night worth every penny....

Yes went to the Chinese and it is amazing (also did the Greek and Italian and both meals were superb),. Had the combination starter, half a duck, lemon chicken plus rice and we were stuffed. Didn%26#39;t eat outside the hotel (although there are a few restaurants and a pizza hut) but the best value inside is to have something off the a la carte menu in the main restaurant. People seem to like to slag off the Four Seasons and I think it%26#39;s a little harsh. We haven%26#39;t stayed anywhere else although the flight back was delayed 11 hours and they dumped us at the Hotel Riu Cyprius Bay. If this is a 4 star then the four seasons is a 6 as the Riu was like faulty towers (no air con on, the rooms were like a campanile but worse and the waiter reminded us of Manuel). I%26#39;ve done a review on the hotel.
