we are spending summer in cyprus and my daughters friend would like to come out for a couple of weeks to visit us (with parents permission of course!)
does anybody know which airlines will allow an unaccompanied 14 yr old to fly?? have tried the usual flythomascook, thomson, first choice etc.
im sure easyjet allow minors to fly, unfortunately they don%26#39;t go to cyprus!!!
any help appreciated
thanx.....tom

Hi Tom,
try Cyprus airways or BA ,they used to provide this service for minors and dedicated a member of staff for boarding and disembarking.More expensive than charter but worth the extra for piece of mind...

hi leica,
thanx very much for that info. we were hoping that she could travel from our local airports, either teeside or newcastle, but it looks as if she%26#39;ll have to go from london or manchester. do you know if cyprus air fly from newc??
thanx again.......tom

Hi Tom,
no they do not.I know it sounds complicated but you could try a connection from Newcastle to Manchester. They would look after the minor and transfer upon arrival.
As they like to keep a eye on minors she will probably be upgraded with BA or Cyprus Airways.
Try ringing Cyprus Airways and ask for options...
Regards Leica.

thanx again leica,
had a quick look but dont think any flights go to manc from newc so it looks as if she%26#39;ll have to fly to london then onto larnaca.
a quick look at prices are; charter flight newc to larnaca(which she can%26#39;t fly unaccompanied)= £300
scheduled BA flight newc to london then onto larnaca the next day(involving an overnight stay which she couldn%26#39;t do alone) =£600
so we%26#39;ll just have to keep looking, it%26#39;s turning out more complicated than we thouhgt!!!
thanx tom
