Weather in October

Hi everyone. We are hoping to fly to Cyprus for the first week in October for a brief holiday. Just wondering what the average temperature is likely to be around this time of year?

We are looking for somewhere fairly peaceful and pretty to stay - does anybody have any tips?

Any advice would be much appreciated!!

hi , you can expect temps in the mid 20%26#39;s most days but there is a small chance of either a rainy/cloudy day at this time of year.

as for somewhere to stay , how about the town of polis %26amp; the surrounding areas., this area ( the akamas ) is stunning %26amp; in my wife %26amp; i %26#39;s opinion the best area of cyprus .car hire really helps as this area is perfect for exploring. any questions please ask.

Yep must agree, we are off again first week Oct- last year we were swimming in the sea almost every day, saw clouds only once in a week. Check out other forums for locations for peace and quiet- I would agree with the above, and we are off to that area- dont know about pretty but rugged and great views def.

After our dismal summer in the UK I am praying for decent weather in October when I return to Cyprus!! I went first two weeks in May this year and the weather was appalling for at least 5 days - surprisingly lots of rain and quite chilly. First time I have had to wear jeans in Cyprus. Last year did first two weeks in October. First 10 days were delightful and then the weather changed overnight to violent thunderstorms and rain for the last 4. Hopefully this will not be repeated this year - desperately in need of warmth and sunshine!

Thanks for this everyone, fingers crossed we will get some good weather - I need some sun! We will definitely have a look at Polis and the surrounding area - we will definitely hire a car as well, as we will want to do some exploring. Does anyone have any advice as to decent (but not too expensive) hotels in the area, also any special places of interest which would be good to visit?

hi again , the Natura Beach hotel in polis is a good little hotel. it%26#39;s right by the beach ( though it%26#39;s pebbly ), the staff are friendly %26amp; it%26#39;s very reasonably priced.

went to Protaras last year 11th to 25th Oct. Daytime temps in mid 20%26#39;s,just like a really nice summer at home. Had thunderstorms often in the late evening, quite spectacular watching the lightening over the sea. Also a couple of heavy showers during the day. Still warm in the evenings, warm enough to eat outside, take a cardi to be on the safe side.
