Sunrise Beach Protaras Wedding

We booked our wedding at Adams Beach in Nissi Bay for September this year, unfortunately 8 weeks after doing so we were advised our wedding date had been changed, unfortunately the new date we were given was the date all our guests were flying out to Cyprus and had all booked there holidays. The only hotel available to us to get married on the day we wanted was Sunrise Beach. We are starting to get a bit worried after reading some reviews. Has anyone been married at this hotel, we want to be married outside hopefully in the gardens. Also the reception any ideas, we have looked on website for Diva which looks okay.

AS you can see from my previous posts, I havnt been there before, but it has been recommended to me by a friend who lives in Paralimni, and she works in the hotel trade in Protaras....

I have recently contacted the hotel direct with some additional requests and they appear to be very accomodating. Their website is announcing that all the guest rooms and the foyer have been refurbished over the winter.......you will probably get some lovely photos on the beach........

You will also be very central in the resort, and within walking distance of everything.........Divas restaurant is about 10 mins walk away.

I wouldnt worry too much about negative reviews, as they can be very subjective.....and what one persons likes, another person doesn%26#39;t.....I have read lots of negative reviews about places I have been to, and accordingly I have gone on holiday with a certain amount of trepidation only to be pleasantly surprised...........

Divas is a lovely restaurant, probably one of the best in resort, and Kirris and Phodis (sp?) who own it are very nice guys.......you would probably have to book it though if there are a lot of you, as it gets packed out everynight after 8.30ish.......

You perhaps should look on the Thomson website and read some of the customer reviews for this hotel on that site, they are all very encouraging.........

Adams Beach is a bit out on a limb (well it was last time I stayed there about 10 years ago).........

Have you tried Capo Bay?? Thats a nice hotel...they do nice weddings there....

Thanks for your info. Unfortunately the only venue Thomas Cook have for us to be married whilst our family are in Cyprus is Sunrise Beach, they tried everywhere after the Adams Beach let us down!!

when I stayed at sunrise last October there was a wedding, it took place on a terrace outside the restaurant. The couple were overlooking the beach as they took their vows, the terrace had been decorated with white drapes %26amp; looked really nice. Then they came down to the grouds to have photos taken, but you can easily get down to the beach, they seemed to have the reception at the hotel too.

I have stayed at the Sunrise and dont worry you will be fine, it is a great hotel, i will be going to Protaras for my 8th time on 23 sep, i have been in lots of restaurants, and my favourite is the corner house which is opposite the diva.

I noticed you%26#39;re also fron Derbyshire.........whereabouts (if you don%26#39;t mind me asking)..only I%26#39;m from Derbyshire and used to work with a girl called cherub!!!

Well, she wasn%26#39;t actually christened Cherub, but thats what we all called her.............

p.s....like you, have been to Cyprus more times than can count..........and always, always eat in Divas at least 3 or 4 times whilst we%26#39;re there, and looked across to the Corner House restauramt, but have never ever eaten there!!!

cant help you yet but we fly out on 30th may to 13th june to get married at the sunrise beach hotel a few people have contacted me and said the hotel is great and you couldent want for more but cant seem to get any info on weddings there but as soon as i get back i will contact you and let you know what its like.

This will be our first time at this hotel.......we normally stay at either Capo Bay hotel, or if we %26#39;re self catering we stay at Pallini Apts (next door to Capo BAy)...........but last year we stayed at Vangelis Apts......opposite the Illiada Hotel..........

We always go in June........I like the temp. at that time of year....nice and hot, but not too hot..........
