I would say Ayia Napa and Protaras are best for beaches, in going to Protaras in September, Fig Tree Bay is superb. I have never been to Paphos

Try Ladies Mile just outside Limassol.Very long stretch of uncrowded clean beach. The water is very shallow, you can walk out for two hundred metres before you reach any depth...

In my opinion I would recomment the Nissi Bay area of Ayia Napa. The town centre is 20 mins walk away and the whole area will have quitened down a lot. I have been to Ladys Mile Beach at Limassol. There is also another Beach, Governers but I have not been to this one. Limassol as a resort I find too large. You would need your own transport if you wanted to go to a sandy beach everyday. Also Ladys Mile Beach takes you past a Lorry Container park that is not very picturesque. In Nissi Bay you will other beaches, as well as Nissi Beach all in easy walking distance. If you did get your own transport, even a bicycle you would be in reach of beaches such as Agia Thekla. This one is very quiet yet does still have facilities. I walk from Nissi Bay to a beach near Macronnissos Beach....but I do the walk very early in the morning before it gets too hot. Takes me about 40 mins walking. Then there is Macronissos Beach and Agia Thekla further out. Toward the centre from Nissi Beach is also Sandy Bay behind the Pavlo Napa and Tasia Maris hotels. Other small bays also along the coastal footpath if you%26#39;re prepared to explore.
