What to do in Northern Cyprus?

Obviously this is an extremely beautiful part of the world and we are really looking forward to the big relax later in the year!

But this is our first trip to northern cyprus can you recommend any MUST DO%26#39;s.....? restaurants, villages etc.....

Do try to visit the Karpas Peninsula - it is unspoilt and tranquil.

We stayed overnight at the Oasis - its VERY basic (generator switched of at 11pm so very dark - take a torch!) It%26#39;s a tiny hotel (more rooms on the beach really) right on the beach and sometimes you can see turtles.

Try Famagusta.Still more or less the same as it was years ago.See the divided town eerie....The Bilfer Palm beach still has a fantastic setting, fantastic beach...Hotel a little dated but it adds to it%26#39;s charm.

Still very popular with Cypriots from the south who arrive by the car load at weekends to use the casino.

Go to Nicosia and cross over (thro the buffer zone) into Southern Cyprus. Interesting to see the huge differences and to see the empty houses and sand bags with bullet holes.

You%26#39;ll need you passport

Im just back from TRNC!! Go see bellapais monastery, and the village, its lovely and well preserved. Also St Hilarion castle is fantastic !!Old crusader castle ruins with 3 levels, the most amazing views and utterly fantastic! We also went to Salamis to see the roman remains, its very hot but very rewarding, after we went down to the beach which has a really long sandy bay!! We now know its moreexpensive to stay that side cos they have all the sand!! kyrenia side is much more rocky and small sandy bays. there are loads of things to see , we only had 10 days, so ended up with Kyrenia castle and the museum there. the harbour is beautiful day and night and worth a few visits! Enjoy!

PS you can also visit the local Pet Rescue and help walk the dogs and puppies, it closes at 1.00pm but i think they are only walking till 11.00am now as its getting hotter.
