On this Paphos forum do a search for Demokritos restaurant. I have written a couple of posts on it over the past few months.

It is very popular for weddings and parties.

If you need more help please feel free to ask.

Hi. I am not sure whether this would be suitable, but I am getting married at St Georges Chapel next year and we are having our reception at the Vardas restuarant. It is set on the sea front and the restaurant is shaped in a semi circle so all views overlook the sea. you can have photos taken on the water front as well. i visited it last year and it is really nice. i have photos on e-mail I can send you as we are booking out wedding via a company called medweds. Hope this helps.

Thanks

Hi,

I used the Demokritos taverna. I chose the mezes but would not reccomend this, opt for a better menu. The place itself was good and traditional for Cyprus and they do the glassman act which is fab.

Hello Alzoe, my daughter was married at Peyia Town Hall in May 2007. We arranged it through Freetime Tours, who were very good. However, if you want to choose your own venue for a small number of people, I%26#39;d say you%26#39;d probably be able to organise it yourselves when you get there, providing you leave a few days for the planning. Most of the restaraunts would be only too pleased to accomodate a wedding party. With a little local knowledge you should not have a problem. We went to the Piano Bar for the evening, which is on the stretch near the harbour. They have a singer [crooner] who is extremely professional. He got the bride and groom up for a dance on their own and the atmosphere was just perfect. We could not have done better if we%26#39;d booked him ourselves, [and it was free!] As far as the paperwork goes, you really need help there, for peace of mind if nothing else. Biggest problem we had was the document concerning %26#39;freedom to marry%26#39;, which many solicitors in the UK seem to not understand. Hope everything goes well, feel free to email me with queries.

Hi Alzoe

Try Ficardos small taverna before the Main Hotel Strip by the Amathus Hotel. Ideal for small weddings can have it in the courtyard which is a really lovely setting
