The Polycarpia is not actually in Protaras but an area called Pernera which is a 10 minute walk, 5 minute drive away from Protaras itself. Regular buses and taxis into Protaras. Plenty of places to eat in Pernera, depends really what you are looking for. There are a couple of good Italian restaurants, Knights Bar (which is always a favourite of the British) lots of good Cypriot restaurants and steak houses and a new Indian opening at end of May. Pizza Hut if you want it. You can get set priced meals from about 7.50CYP upwards. Approximate price for meal out for two with a couple of drinks would be 21CYP to 25CYP, extra if you want wine. One very good restaurant is the Il Cultura De Gusto (Italian) - absolutely fabulous food but expect to pay more for it. Really well worth trying - around 60CYP for a three course meal for two with wine, drink and water. Another good restaurant is The Jolly Waiter - run by a local Cypriot family and does very good authentic Cypriot dishes (mother cooks them) Set meals on offer - al la carte expect to pay 21CYP to 30CYP for 3 course meal with drinks.

With little ones of 5 and 8 I wouldn%26#39;t attempt to walk to Fig Tree Bay. Whilst it is only a 10/15 minute walk for an adult it will be too hot for little ones to walk. You can get a bus on the opposite side of the road to Knights bar (run every 30 minutes) which will drop you in Protaras or a taxi would be 4CYP each way. I personally don%26#39;t think Fig Tree Bay is the best beach and it will be a lot of effort to have to drag all your beach equipment with you - it is always sold as the best beach in Cyprus but there are a lot more smaller prettier ones. In peak season it is shoulder to shoulder sunbathing. If you head for Pernera Beach or the beach in front of the Golden Coast hotel in Pernera both of which are within walking distance, they are superb for children. Pedalos, swimming, watersports, ice creams etc but not intrusively noisy. There is a water park at Protaras and a bigger one at Ayia Napa which the children would love. Ayia Napa is a good 20/25 minutes away by bus and the water park at AN is the last drop off so the kids might enjoy a ride on the bus (which is an experience in itself) and spend a whole day at the waterpark. There are more things for children to do in Protaras itself - go carts etc but you would have to plan to spend your day there as it would not be easy to just keep popping back to your apartment.

Anything else, just ask

thanks 4 the info 1 last thing what temp will it be from 24june till about 8 july will it be very hot as i have bin look on the net and the temps seem a bit low at the min. its our 1st time in cyprus and dont no a right lot about it we normally go 2 spain and turkey hope enjoy it !!!!!!!!!!

|||

It will be hot believe me. 80s upwards. You may get a bit of light cloud but certainly you shouldn%26#39;t get any rain and will see a lot of blue sky. June is a fabulous month to go, hot enough but not humid like July and August which are almost unbearable and not for the faint hearted!

Hiya,there are a lot of restaurants and bars around the Polycarpia.Im not sure if there are side entrances to the hotel but if you come out of the main entrance and turn right this will take you to Pernera as mentioned earlier where Knights bar,Pizza hut etc are.Knights do good food all day but gets very busy at night.Some nice restaurants further up the hill,Cordon Blue being one and there%26#39;s a Chinese.If you turn the other way out of the hotel theres the other part of Pernera with more bars and restaurants.There%26#39;s a chinese next door to your hotel and the Western Star pub always has something going on.If you walk down the road past the Anastasia hotel you%26#39;ll find a small sandy man made beach which is ideal for kids,shallow and calm.There%26#39;s a grassy bit next to it at the Marlita Beach hotel where the kids can run about and play football and it%26#39;s only a minute or so away from the Polycarpia.
