I read your report on your holiday i DeCosta hotel/apts. My friend and I are going on 5th July this year. We are on half board. Is the apartments easy to reach as it is on a cliff? We are both in our 60%26#39;s and this worried me a bit. Are things dear to buy? It is cheaper to exchange our money over there or here? Is there any entertainment? Is is a long walk to beach or town centre? Is there plenty to do? Sorry to ply you with so many questions but we have had a holiday cancelled and this was booked without knowing too much about it and there were not many photos in the brochure. The hotal/apts in the brochure actually do not look very attractive. Lastly we have asked for a one bedroomed ground floor room, are there any rooms on the ground floor? I am glad you and your son enjoyed your holiday, and thanks for reading this.

hiya, just read your post so hopefully I can help a wee bit.I haven%26#39;t stayed here but think I know where they are,I%26#39;m sure they are just outside Protaras next to T.S Resorts apartments. If I remember rightly there isn%26#39;t a great deal around here but the place did look nice any time I walked by here, certainly better than the place next door.It also seemed very quiet and laid back .It sits on a cliff(not high, there is a set of steps further round where you can get into the sea as there is no beach) but the area around the hotel is flat so I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll be ok.It%26#39;s not far to the beginning of Protaras but you will need to walk a bit especially if you intend eating out as I really can%26#39;t think of any restaurants or bars around there, maybe someone will correct me on this.It is at the end of a road which winds down off the main road which heads to Ayia Napa and I%26#39;m sure there is a wee bit of a hill to climb up this road to get into Protaras, again someone might confirm this.
I%26#39;ve got a photo somewhere taken from outside here looking over the bay,I%26#39;ll need to look it out.

Thanks for your answer, Is the beach a long way away? Did the apts look quite impressive or were they very basic? I know it has pool. I thought fig tree bay was not far away. Apparenly alongside the tennid courts there is a small bit of sand where you can snorkel. Is it cheaper in cyprus to change your currency over there? thanks again you have been a help.

Hi again. There is a very small area down to the right of the apts where I%26#39;ve seen one or two people sitting but it%26#39;s not what i%26#39;d call sandy, more of a small, stoney cove.As the crow flies you are pretty close to Fig Tree bay,but if you were to follow the main road it%26#39;s a lot longer. You can get there by walking out to the cliff side and turn left ,walk round to the hotel next to the private villas and take the road until you come to another complex(used to be the Nausica Beach but I think it has a new name). If you go through here it will bring you out facing side on to Fig Tree bay, just follow the path riund a bit and yuo%26#39;re there.Probably a 10-15minute stroll once you get you%26#39;re bearings.Fig Tree bay and the place you%26#39;re staying at are separated by a rocky headland and you can also walk right round by the coast if you want. The apts did look nice from the outside, have a look at the Olympic Holidays website there are some photos there.
Change your money over there, the rate here is rubbish.there are plenty of banks and places to exchange, most of the places that do the tours exchange at better rate.

Dav 65- from 12345grace - sorry have only just read what you left for me. This is really helpful and I am sure will make all the difference. One last question and then I will leave you in peace! Is Fig Tree Bay the nearest beach to these apartments? Does it mean that there is a 10-15min walk to any beach? also is it the same time to restaurants, bars etc. Thanks for being such a help. Have looked on Olympic site but does not show much of actual hotel.

1234grace-it%26#39;s no problem answering questions if it helps you any.Fig Tree bay will be your nearest decent beach,as I mentioned earlier there is a bit down to the side of the hotel but to be honest it really isn%26#39;t somewhere you%26#39;d be able to spend any time at(but I could be wrong,it may well be something you like).
I don%26#39;t know if there is anything in the way of restaurants and bars down there until you get up onto the main drag of Protaras,to be honest I never paid much attention when I was walking.
If you follow the web address of a map I%26#39;ve left it shows you roughly where you are.
No.53 is Da Costa.You%26#39;ll see the headland area between your hotel and Fig Tree bay which is directly in front of No.18(Capo Bay hotel). If you come out your hotel and turn right, head for No.60 then through No.94 and it will bring you out to the side of Fig Tree Bay.You then walk along for a hundred yards or so,down some steps and you%26#39;ll be on Fig Tree bay.
Alternatively, turn left out of the hotel and walk up the side road onto the main road, turn right antil you come to the split in the road(No.77 on map) and turn right down the hill.Follow the road round for a bit and take the first road down to the right which will bring you out at Fig tree bay.
The picture I have is on my old computer,if I can get it and you want to see it(photo taken from outside the Da Costa looking over the bay) then PM me with an email address and I%26#39;ll pop it off to you(although you say you go on the 5th which was Thursday so it%26#39;s probably too late).
