Large Group travelling in June / July

Hi All,

I am part of a group of 19 people adults and kids staying in the Ship Inn in June / July. My wife and i have stayed there before for a long weekend and enjoyed it so much we told all our friends about it and they now want to go there with us. What pressure !!!!!

What i need to know is

1) Will we need to book restaurants ahead and will they do discounts for such a large number

2) How easy is it to book taxi%26#39;s for large groups any suggestions

3) Any word on the golf course in Esentepe

4)Is there a market selling all the usual locally products

5) Any suggestions on restaurants, things to do beaches to go to you know the kind of think

P.S. Anybody staying in the Ship Inn at same time need not worry as we are a very friendly well behaved crowd

Hi Irish 26.

1) Never travelled in that size of party, but I%26#39;d imagine some careful negotiation wouldn%26#39;t shave your bill by a few lira.

2) Lots of big Merc taxis about the Ship Inn. Just book at reception, and expect them along in five minutes or so.

3) Esentepe%26#39;s official opening date is mid-May, so the course should be in the swing of things by the time you arrive.

4) An open market is held every Wednesday in Kyrenia from 8am to 4pm. It%26#39;s at the top of the village, just above Bassi Park.

Hear there is a delay regarding Esentepe and that the new course will not open until August. Practice facilities will be available before then, it seems. Will check all this out next month if I can.

Still looking for some help

1) Restaurants big enough to cater for all of us with good varied menus. I know of all the places around the harbour and of course will be visiting them but maybe other suggestions elsewhere

2) Any information about Tatlisu area as a friend has bought out there and we have been asked to check it out

3) Shopping in Nicosia both sides is it worthwhile

Any other ideas or help appreciated

try Shirley Valentine`s out in Lapta area. Jan and Nasser do very good mediterranean style dishes and there is a lovely seawater pool. About 9 miles West of Kyrenia town, 400 yards past the tacky LA Hotel stretch. Phone first, 821 8922.

Legend also good menu,815 3223, Alsancak area, about 4 miles West of Ship Inn.

The golf course at Esentepe is up and running and the greens are in very good condition. The clubhouse is very nice and snacks and meals are available.

The couse itself is challenging and most golfers are playing above their par
